Chasing shadows poem

In the Tower, chasing shadows
of souls who don't live here.
Waiting, still waiting
as time slinks by like the dresses I used to wear.
Eyes wide open, so not to miss a moment,
this easy time we live in, where so much is forgotten.
I forget to remind them to love me
I forget to love them back
but you and I kiss each morning
you and I remember that
We live off each other, you and I.
For who do you have, if not me?
and who do I have, if not you?
We reach for each other while chasing shadows,
of which there are too few.
